Launchpad Spotlight: Banyu Carbon? ? Ocean Visions’ Launchpad program provides expert support to select innovators developing marine carbon dioxide removal strategies, like Banyu Carbon.? ? ?Banyu Carbon employs a simple, light-driven process to remove carbon dioxide from ocean surface waters, allowing for additional carbon to be reabsorbed from the air. Captured CO2 can then be stored in geological formations or used in long-lived products.? ? Meet Banyu Carbon: https://lnkd.in/gucCaMCt? ? #OceanClimateSolutions #ClimateChange #CarbonRemoval?

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy's Fast-Track Action Committee has released a national strategy to advance research for marine carbon dioxide removal (#mCDR).? ? The strategy outlines key priorities, including: ? Advancing comprehensive research efforts using field trials, laboratory experiments, and modeling to assess the effectiveness, risks, and tradeoffs of various mCDR methods.? ? Conducting research transparently and responsibly, including adhering to a clear code of ethical conduct and engaging affected communities.? ? Setting a 2030 target to quickly build the required knowledge base to make informed decisions. The strategy aligns closely with Ocean Visions’ High-Level Road Map to Prove or Disprove mCDR Technologies by 2030. We welcome this meaningful step forward, which emphasizes the need for sustained government coordination and investment to transform insights into action.? We encourage you to read the report and join the conversation on exploring these ocean-based climate solutions: https://lnkd.in/g5mkJdJa ?? DIVE DEEPER:?
