Uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) are fast maturing to offer unique advantages over traditional inshore vessels. Their smaller, shallow-draft designs provide greater access to challenging locations. As well as being cheaper and easier to deploy, USVs can be operated remotely with rapid data transfer, providing faster results during site investigations and quicker decisions on critical asset inspections. From our Remote Operations Centre (ROC), we collect hydrographic and geophysical datasets in nearshore environments worldwide—all without placing a single person offshore.
