OCEAN colleagues from @DefraGovUK had the pleasure of visiting OCEAN Grantee Berikanprenuer in Indonesia earlier this month. The project aims to educate and equip the local community with the skills needed to address pollution caused by discarded fish waste in Eretan Kulon Village. We had the pleasure of meeting Kohdijah and the team, who warmly welcomed us and shared their enthusiasm for the project. Highlights included watching products being prepared and visiting the factory where we learned about the zero-waste production of fish protein powder, benefiting both local communities and farming industries. ????? https://loom.ly/1UHKZtc

In coastal communities, marginalised groups are more vulnerable to the effects of climate change and environmental degradation. Systemic and historical barriers also limit their access to resources and put them at more risk of multi-dimensional poverty. How can Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion strengthen OCEAN's impact in reaching the most vulnerable members of coastal communities?
