As apex predators, sharks keep marine ecosystems balanced by regulating species populations and ensuring biodiversity thrives. Without them, entire ecosystems could collapse. Here are some shark facts to inspire action: ?? Sharks have existed for 450 million years—long before dinosaurs! ?? Healthy shark populations ensure healthy fish populations, supporting global food security. ?? Up to 100 million sharks are killed annually, many due to bycatch and the shark fin trade. The good news? We can protect these ocean guardians together. By supporting sustainable fishing practices, reducing plastic waste that harms marine life, and spreading awareness about sharks' importance, we can help safeguard their future—and ours.
