On Thursday, November 14th, Inroads had the honor of attending the “Leveraging Community Partnerships with Stakeholders” event, hosted by Eric Graham, a community activist, in collaboration with Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church. The event brought together over 30 local social service organizations, including the Plainfield School District and various state agencies. The event featured a panel of distinguished speakers, including Gina Iosim, Union County Assistant Prosecutor; William Daniel, Union County Prosecutor; Kaylee McGuire, Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Human Services; Dr. Charyl Yarbrough, Assistant Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development; and Angela Calzone, President/CEO of Inroads to Opportunities. Special thanks to Eric Graham and Scotty McFarlane for welcoming us into the Plainfield community. We are excited to be a resource and support system for Plainfield residents.

Inroads to Opportunities (ITO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing and providing individuals with disabilities life and work skills in a safe, supportive environment. ITO acts as a bridge to work opportunities as well as to foster independence and growth to help the individuals served become active, productive members of society. OUR MISSION STATEMENT Empowering individuals with disabilities in their pursuit of independence and attainment of meaningful employment. As part of that important mission, ITO provides contract packaging and assembly work for many types of businesses in the tri-state area. We have an on-site workforce of over 200 people and 11 production lines within our 3 modern buildings spanning 85,000 square feet of temperature controlled work space. ITO has been in operation since 1959 providing excellent service to our many customers. We offer high quality output at competitive prices with market driven turn-around. We can offer all types of services including: hand assembly, collation, bundling, shrink wrapping, POP display set-up, heat sealing, poly bagging, inserting, hand folding, sorting, boxing & packing, sealing, labeling and much more. Our Transition School Year is in Full Swing! Fall festivities are in full bloom at Inroads, and our Transition students recently had a blast painting pumpkins!?Our School-to-Work Transition Program combines fun activities like this with valuable pre-vocational training, helping high school students with disabilities explore and prepare for the working world. For students ages 16 through graduation, our program provides a strong support system with opportunities like paid work experiences and hands-on vocational training.
