We are taking this day to celebrate members of the Tribal Nations and all Indigenous peoples, many of whom call Oklahoma home. When Businesswoman Elaine Hahn passed away, her sister Kathy knew how important education was to Elaine. To honor Elaine's legacy, she established the Elaine Hahn Memorial Business Scholarship at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation for young women who plan to attend college and study business. Former Governor George Nigh and his wife Donna know that it’s not about how much money one contributes but the positive impact they can create to help improve people’s lives. The residents of Coalgate, Oklahoma know that access to high-speed internet is a fundamental necessity, connecting people to resources. The Oklahoma City Community Foundation awarded the City of Coalgate a grant of $150,000, which served as the catalyst for delivering broadband internet services to its citizens. The Curbside Chronicle was founded to employ and empower individuals transitioning out of homelessness. Since its inception, Curbside has helped over 400 people end their homelessness in Oklahoma City. Through community support and generous donors, OCCF made a grant to provide seed money for the start of Curbside Flowers, an organization that has only continued to bloom.
