This year, the Cerebral Valley AI Summit focused on the maturation of generative AI, its adoption by enterprises, and its progress toward more advanced, multi-modal, and intelligent models. Kahini Shah gives us five takeaways from the conference on how to unlock AI’s full potential.?
This year’s Cerebral Valley AI summit spotlighted the biggest opportunities in AI—from autonomous agents to human-AI collaboration to robotics. Here are my five takeaways: - Agentic AI is full of promise—but it’s uncharted territory - The next frontier is training AI with human behavior - The speed of AI development depends on its use case - Human adoption is a barrier as much as technology - Humans will remain integral in the age of AI Read on to see where the technology is going and what’s needed to unlock its full potential. https://lnkd.in/gPEqXCv2 I'm excited to fuel the next generation of intelligent systems. Are you building in agentic AI (physical or digital)? Let’s discuss.

Ever wondered what we were up to before we started working in venture? We’re starting a new series of profiles on our managing directors, and first up is Vishal Vasishth. Through every stop on his journey, Vishal has learned over and over that you can do the right thing and still make money. From Patagonia and B Corp to running a fund in India, to finally, co-founding Obvious, here’s how he got to now. https://lnkd.in/gU4ZvZGY

As part of Norrsken’s Impact/Week 2024 in Barcelona, we co-hosted Impact/Return to focus on solving big challenges, backing bold ideas, and partnering with companies and teams working across our three pillars. Our own Andrew Beebe discussed the need for increased public/private collaboration on climate goals with Seyonne Kang (Stepstone), Nina Kraus (Hamilton Lane), and Maria Kozloski (The Rockefeller Foundation). Chris Anderson (TED) had a riveting fireside chat with Niklas Adalberth, co-founder of Klarna and the Norrsken Foundation. It was a delight to collaborate with our co-host Agate S. Freimane, the whole Norrsken team, and all the panelists, speakers, and attendees. Thanks for an unforgettable week.
Had a blast last week co-hosting ImpactWeek with our good friends Norrsken VC. The European community is scaling around world positive venture, and it’s great to be a part of it I spoke with Seyonne Kang (Stepstone) Nina Kraus (Hamilton Lane), and Maria Kozloski (The Rockefeller Foundation) at Norrsken VC’s Impact/Return 2024. We talked about the $12 trillion/year investment opportunity that is net zero and what it’s going to take to make it happen in 2025 and beyond. Also loved sharing the mic with Chris Anderson (of TED fame) and Niklas Adalberth (Norrsken founder) about breaking through the FOAK brick walls in Climatetech today and tomorrow Thank you, Team Norrsken! In the next ten years, we will need to double the electrons to power our grid. At? Obvious, we want those electrons to be green. Our managing director, James Joaquin, talked to Bloomberg TV about the next four years, where we’ll find the energy to meet our needs, and using AI to advance science and health.
https://lnkd.in/gWbEbvZN Yesterday, I went on Bloomberg TV to talk about AI, Generative Science, and Climate Tech under Trump 2.0. There are reasons to be optimistic! The Inflation Reduction Act has already deployed over $200B dollars, with $165B going to red states. That's delivering good green jobs in states like Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. At Obvious we're excited about #GenerativeScience to solve unsolvable problems in climate like discovering geothermal and inventing new and better batteries.

Unlocking the power of human proteins will have a huge impact on science. Known as proteomics, China has already begun investing heavily in this area. Here’s Rohan Ganesh in STAT on why the U.S. must do the same:
Professor Neil Kelleher and I penned this opinion piece in STAT on proteomics. It's the next frontier, and it's strategic. We must act now.

Cancer. It’s a horrible equalizer that transcends race, class, and geography. All of the treatment options—chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, targeted therapies—can make managing a patient’s care challenging for an oncologist. That’s why we invested in Ataraxis AI. Ataraxis is a precision medicine company building AI models to elevate the oncology care standard. We’re co-leading the company’s $4M seed round along with Giant Ventures.
About 1 in 5 people develop cancer in their lifetime. The good news is that oncology is one of the most advanced branches of medicine. However, the wide variety of treatments can make managing a patient’s care challenging. That’s where Ataraxis AI comes in. Ataraxis is a precision medicine company building AI models to elevate the standard of care in oncology.

Forum Mobility announces a partnership with Climate United to purchase up to 500 class 8 electric trucks — the largest single order of these trucks in US history. This initiative will help small businesses improve their bottom line, create healthier communities, and build global supply chains that make America more competitive.
What's the biggest cost center in electric trucking? The cost of a truck, by a country mile. ? ? That’s why we are incredibly excited to announce this gamechanging truck financing collaboration with Climate United.? ? Climate United is a non-profit green bank, and leveraging a grant from EPA, will invest $250 million to purchase up to 500 class 8 electric trucks – the largest single order of such trucks in US history. On top of the cost reductions from bulk purchasing, Climate United stacks low cost of capital and assumption of residual value risk, resulting in incredibly competitive truck lease rates for fleets and independent owner operators. ? ? Forum Mobility is the charging infrastructure provider to this program. We are building a network of truck charging depots, in ports and along common freight routes, designed to support fleets of all sizes in the transition to electric trucks. By bringing together reliable charging solutions and affordable and accessible truck financing, we offer growing fleets a one-stop solution for making zero emission technology work for them.? ? From the press release: ? ? “Eighty percent of California’s drayage registry is comprised of small fleets, and it’s our job to make sure the transition to zero-emissions leaves no one behind, that fleets of all sizes have the opportunity to prosper,” said Matt LeDucq, CEO and co-founder of Forum Mobility. “The network of truck charging depots we are building will give fleets access to reliable charging, where they need it. For us, success means not just cleaner air for port communities, but also lower costs per mile for truckers, and this partnership between Forum Mobility and Climate United is a gamechanger.”? ? How does the Harbor Trucking Association feel about this program, you ask?? ? “For zero-emission battery-electric truck deployments to scale, cost has to be at the forefront of any discussion,” said Matt Schrap, CEO of HTA. “HTA appreciates innovative solutions that can help support fleets in this push for zero-emission. It is always encouraging to see a program that reduces upfront costs by pairing both infrastructure and the truck together. They are inexorably intertwined, you can’t have one without the other and when the two are combined, it solves a lot of challenges for carriers.”? ? For fleets interested in learning more about how this solution can get you moving growing your fleet with electric truck solutions, reach out to Ron A Hunt. Or send an email to [email protected]? ? For shippers that are wondering how to reduce scope 3 emissions, Forum has a growing list of customers with fleets ready to move your goods without the emissions. Ben Goossen can help you find a carrier who has made the investment, and will appreciate the business.? ? https://lnkd.in/ggkGJnnj
