You really need to understand how the Real Time Bidding system is betraying your privacy. While the data Google gives to advertisers (and those pretending to advertise) doesn't include your name, it does include enough data that brokers and harvesters can link it back to profiles they have created on you Sometimes they screw it up, which is why data accuracy can be poor. But most of the time they are right, allow them to amass incredible troves of sensitive information about you. What Johnny Ryan is alleging here is that our adversaries are pretending to be advertisers and harvesting our data directly from the legitimate Google advertising infrastructure. This is not new information. It's not a hard thing to accomplish - if you understand AdTech and have the systems in place. The FTC just hung Mobilewalla out to dry for the same type of activity, including harvesting consumer location data. It's not hard. Ready for an audit to understand your personal threat surface?
?????????? ?? ?????????????? ?????????????????? ???????? ???????? ?????????? ?????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ????????????????????? Maybe. On its own? Probably not. But paired with smarter security strategies and broader protection for the people closest to them? It’s a different story. A detailed digital footprint audit can deeply inform your physical security strategy. ?????? ???????????? ?????????????? ???? ?????? ?????? ?????????? ???????????????? ????????’?? ????????????. ?????????????????? ???????????? ?????? ????????????????. ???????? ???? ?????????? ????????????????. ???????? ?????????? ????????????????????’ ??????????????????, ?????????? ?????????? ????????????????, ?????? ?????????????? ?????????????????????? ????????’?? ???????????????????? ???????? ???? ???????? ????????????. Here’s what anyone can do to drastically lower that risk: 1?? ?????????? ???????? ?????????????? ?????????????????? How much of your personal information is already out there? Your home address, old phone numbers, family connections, and location history may all be publicly available on data broker sites, social platforms, and public records. Attackers use these clues to locate and track people. ? Who can provide this service? Some data footprint audit services exist, but few offer the invasive, threat-based approach you want and none we know of are designed to uncover all of your personal data points. This is where firms like ObscureIQ stand out. 2?? ???????????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ?????????????? & ???????????????? ?????????????? Data brokers collect your location data, purchase history, and browsing activity to sell it. Attackers buy access to these same datasets. The more places your info exists, the easier it is to trace you. ? Who can do it for you? Many services handle surface-level broker removals and do a decent job. But additional data remains out there, ready to be found by anyone who knows where to look. ObscureIQ specializes in DeepDeleting data from the toughest brokers and covers lesser-known trackers and location brokers. 3?? ?????????????? ?????? ????-???????????????? & ?????? ?????????????? Deleting your info once isn't enough- it will reappear. Data brokers resell info constantly, and new activity (like address updates) puts you back in their system. ? Who can do it for you? This isn't a "set it and forget it" task. You'll need ongoing monitoring to track re-exposures, dark web mentions, and social media chatter. Firms like ObscureIQ provide real-time alerts when your personal data reappears or threats emerge. ------ There’s a lot to consider. But if you think you’re at risk, why not start with a Digital Footprint Audit? It’s the simplest, clearest way to see what your personal threat surface looks like — and to know exactly what an attacker could see. Start by understanding your risk. #DigitalFootprint #CyberSecurity #UHC #DigitalExecutiveProtection #Privacy #ThreatIntelligence #DataBrokers

?????? ?????? ???????? ?????????? ???????????????????????? ?????????????? ?????? ????????? There are three primary reasons; one is compelling on the surface, but the other two are the real drivers. ???Open records make ???????????????????????? easy for democratic elections. That sounds great. But does everyone need access to verify voter rolls? No. Giving everyone access to voter data allows very undemocratic activities. We could solve this if we put our minds to it. ????????????????????????? want your data. Since the 1960s, politicians have realized the value of polling and tailoring their messaging to you. Today, they can do that down to an audience of one on social media. ?? ?????????????????? & ???????? ?????????????? want your data. Voter data is a key piece of base profile information they use. Much of their information is unreliable. Public records are great, but generally small batch. Voter records are massive sets of high-quality identity data they get for no cost. Data purchased about your Driver's License records - most states sell it against the spirit of the Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) - plus the voter records give them a base profile upon which they can add all of your other data: phones, emails, social accounts, etc. Download the PDF here: https://lnkd.in/eCBEFGNj Voter Registration Data Sold by State: https://lnkd.in/eSJaxvZn Find more info about Voter Data and ways you may be able to free yourself on my Tactical Privacy Wire: https://lnkd.in/egXDp6Xy Look for an announcement this week from ObscureIQ and me. ?????? ?????????????????? ?????????? ???? ???????????????????? ???? ???????? ?????????????? That's right -- An industry that lobbies Congress claiming to protect you from cybercriminals is actually fueling their activities. Below is my thesis on the issue, but the latest example is from National Public Data, which just leaked everyone's Social Security number (SSN) -including mine! Check if yours was exposed here: Find out here: ??NPDBreach: https://npdbreach.com (You can look up your name, SSN or phone number) ?Data Brokers Fuel Cybercrime Data brokers collect, sell, and sometimes leak sensitive personal information. This data, while useful for marketing and anti-fraud purposes, is also a goldmine for cybercriminals. It enables them to build detailed profiles, making it easier to target, phish, and socially engineer us out of our money and credentials. ? When Data Brokers Get Breached Data Brokers are being breached regularly. They seem to have even less incentive to protect your data than a normal business. High-profile breaches, from Equifax to NPD, have demonstrated how data brokers' information can end up in the hands of criminals, resulting in widespread identity theft and fraud. Justin Shermin: https://lnkd.in/e5aCTz7G LA Times: https://lnkd.in/e4rbgq5B ? Minimal Regulation, Maximum Risk The data broker industry operates with minimal oversight, significantly increasing the risk of data misuse and breaches-further fueling cybercrime. Brennen Center: https://lnkd.in/eiF3Kwx8 ?Expanding Attack Surface As data brokers continue to sell more information, the potential for breaches escalates, expanding the attack surface that cybercriminals can exploit. The Human Element of Data Exploitation: https://lnkd.in/ee8Fc6QG It's time to hold data brokers accountable. Demand stronger regulations and take steps to protect your personal information.
