Dear Obran Community, We hope this message finds you well. Today, we are writing to share an important leadership update for Obran Cooperative. Joseph Cureton, who founded Obran in 2016 and has served as its Chief Coordinating Officer (CCO), will be transitioning out of his leadership role effective immediately. This decision reflects a collaborative process between Joseph and the Board of Directors over the past year and a half, focusing on succession planning and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Obran. Joseph’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping Obran into the innovative, values-driven cooperative it is today. From his early vision to his unwavering dedication, he has been a catalyst for Obran’s growth. We are deeply grateful for his contributions and the foundation he has built for the cooperative’s future. To ensure continuity, Celia Daly will step into the role of interim CCO effective immediately. Celia brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of Obran’s purpose and operations, and is supported by a strong leadership team. We have every confidence in her ability to guide the organization through this transition and beyond. We remain steadfast in our mission to advance Obran’s cooperative values and look forward to building on the strong foundation Joseph has laid.
