National Warrior Call Day is November 17, 2024, a national day of action encouraging all Americans to reach out and connect with the servicemembers and veterans in their life. On National Warrior Call Day, you should: 1. Call a servicemember or veteran. 2. See how they are doing. Remind them you care. Be honest and let them be honest. 3. This week South Dakota Gives asks who do we admire? The first South Dakota organization that comes to mind is Community Action for Veterans a nonprofit focusing on developing communities of care across the state. Last week, Face the Fight proudly partnered with Starbucks to amplify awareness and inspire people to connect with veterans during the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Buddy Check Week by joining the #TalktoTen initiative. Starbucks generously donated gift cards, which were given to the first 10,000 individuals who registered and committed to connect with 10 veterans throughout the week. This initiative fostered approximately 100,000 meaningful connections within the military community. A big thank you to Starbucks for the dedication to this cause.
