Celebrating #rarediseaseday this year by being 3 days post-infusion. Thanks to Sarepta Therapeutics and our amazing medical team, 17 years after diagnosis, we have hope! Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy affects 1 in 3500 boys every year. When Jake was diagnosed in 2008, there was no cure and very little treatment. We were told we'd be lucky to have him until his late teens or early twenties, but the community of scientists, doctors, parents and advocates refused to give up! In the 17 years since his diagnosis, we've seen incredible advancements in treatment, but we can't stop now. Every person with Duchenne deserves the hope we have now - and there's a lot of work to be done. I encourage you to learn more about DMD and partner with one of the many incredible support and research organizations to make a real difference to our guys!
