Before the sun sets on this 23rd anniversary of 9/11, all of us at Visterra and our partner companies pay tribute to the innocent lives lost and the brave first responders who ran toward the infernos. May we never forget the horror and heroism that shone that day. A Model Visterra Safety All-Star, Joel Martinez, Construction Foreman at Oberson's Nursery & Landscapes LLC A Visterra Company, has been leading weekly toolbox talks and completing pre-use equipment inspections daily. In this video, Joel's #SafetyStartsWithMe approach and mindset was captured on compelling drive-cam footage. Joel, who was recently traveling in a company vehicle from Dayton to Columbus in Ohio, practiced perfect assured distance between his vehicle and those in front of him, saving himself from serious injury while vehicles in front of him sadly collided. It's no wonder Oberson's (and two other Visterra partner companies) were recently recognized with two Gold and one Silver for Overall Safety Achievement from the National Association of Landscape Professionals. NALP's Safety Award Winners recognize companies with exemplary safety programs for having No Vehicle Accidents, No Injuries or Illnesses, and No Days Away from Work.
