Katy joins Oates Associates after most recently serving as an account specialist at a transportation logistics company. From planning transportation needs and services for clients to spearheading marketing and social events, Katy brings hands-on experience in communications and engagement. Katy graduated from Lindenwood University in 2022, earning her Bachelor of Science in Advertising and Strategic Communications. Drawing on her academic background and previous experience, she will provide fresh perspectives and ideas for strategies to support the firm’s marketing efforts.

The third time's the charm! The City received the good news that it is being awarded a $21.24 million federal RAISE grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. It's a highly competitive nationwide grant available for critical transportation and infrastructure projects. Edwardsville is one of several Illinois cities among the recipients. This grant will allow the City to undertake the long-sought Goshen Road and Liberty Trail Multimodal Transportation Project, which will provide important safety, environmental and connectivity enhancements. This was the City's third time seeking the grant, and we received dozens of letters of support from regional public safety providers, elected officials, school districts, organizations and businesses. The support was instrumental and is incredibly appreciated! We also want to note the expertise and collaboration from Oates Associates, Inc. and Moran Economic Development. Among the planned improvements are: - Reconstruction of 1 mile of Goshen Road from the Edwardsville-YMCA Meyer Center to Sports Park Drive at Plummer Family Park. - The addition of a 2.5-mile shared use path along the north side of Goshen Road from Old Troy Road to Plummer Family Park with solar, rapid-flashing beacons. - Reconstruction of 0.3 miles of Old Troy Road from Goshen Road to MCT Trails' Goshen Trail AND the addition of a shared use path on the east side of Old Troy Road in that same stretch. - The installation of roundabouts with clearly marked pedestrian crossings at three Goshen Road intersections – at Gerber Road, District Drive and Ridge View Road. - Electric vehicle charging stations at Plummer Family Park and bicycle parking along the shared use path. - Stream bank stabilization at Goshen Road culverts. Construction is likely a few years down the road while essential design work is undertaken to map out the precise steps for the project.
