We honor these movers and shakers by continuing their work and vision every single day in the halls of our office and community. Two major legislative wins happened this week, the Senate version of the bill (SB 1255) to end the indiscriminate use of youth shackling PASSED UNANIMOUSLY in the Senate. The House bill (HB 2158) that expands access to college education for people who are incarcerated, passed unanimously on Monday in the K-12 subcommittee and passed in the full Education committee today with bi-partisan support. Thank you to all of our legislators for implementing these affirming and badly needed changes for those facing the challenges of incarceration.
