Celebrate Black History with our club Thursday, February 27 at 4 pm If our Civic Thursday lunch-time meetings don't work for you, our monthly off-site meetings might! This week is an offsite meeting at the beautiful African American Museum & Library at Oakland (AAMLO). This unique institution is dedicated to discovering, preserving, interpreting, and sharing the rich historical and cultural experiences of African Americans in California and the West. The reference library at AAMLO is non-circulating.?It is a unique jewel for researchers, students, and anyone interested in African American history. Its collection consists of approximately 12,000 volumes by or about African Americans. There are books on religion, the military, Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcom X, and the Black Panther Party.??This site is the former Charles S.
