Learner-tutor partnerships have been the heart of the Oakland Literacy experience for the past 40 years! Watch Enam, a refugee from Afghanistan, and Ann, a volunteer tutor and OLC Board member, share their story at our annual fundraising dinner last Thursday. After, please think about making a donation in support of these amazing partnerships. https://lnkd.in/eDFMsWJQ
关于我们
The Oakland Literacy Council provides basic literacy, math, GED prep, and English language instruction to adults in order to facilitate lifelong learning, employment and personal well-being. Volunteer tutors are matched with students who meet each week for personalized learning. We believe that every person has the right to be literate and that literacy is the foundation of lifelong learning. We believe that the abilities to read and write, to understand and be understood are essential to personal freedom and the health of a truly democratic society.
