OAK Airport Aviation Project Manager Daniel Pruim, C.M., ACE, PMP represented OAK on a panel at the AAAE / Airport Consultants Council (ACC) Planning, Design, and Construction Symposium in San Antonio, TX. The panel, “Turbulence Free Construction: Harmonizing Stakeholders in Airfield Development” included Dan and speakers from Southwest Airlines, Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL), and San Diego County Regional Airport Authority (SAN). The panelists shared lessons learned on successfully coordinating with aviation stakeholders, the surrounding community, and the traveling public to ensure safe operations during construction while minimizing impacts through collaboration and communication. At the end of the presentation, each of the speakers threw out socks to the best participating audience member questions to the panel. The first renovated restroom of Oakland International Airport's (OAK) Terminal Restroom Renovation Program is OPEN! The renovation is an exciting first for not just OAK, but for Webcor, marking our first completed project at Oakland International. These modernized restrooms feature spacious ADA-compliant stalls with shelves for personal items, stall doors with integrated LED-light occupancy indicators so travelers can quickly spot available stalls, and upgraded lighting with energy-efficient LED fixtures and sound-absorbing materials that minimize noise and enhance passenger comfort.
