#OCbuilds | The City of Chula Vista Loma Verde Recreation and Aquatics Center was recently selected as ENR California’s best sports/entertainment project in Southern California (2024). Congratulations to the team: COAR Design Group, City of Chula Vista, EC Constructors, Inc. ? OCMI's construction management team delivered significant value through our expertise in design management. Leveraging our construction manager’s architectural background, we pinpointed critical design challenges early. Our constructability analysis proved invaluable, facilitating a smoother permitting process for the design-build team. Our cost and schedule management teams were pivotal in effectively assessing the contractor’s schedule and managing change order requests. Moreover, our commitment to flexibility in scheduling allowed us to provide consistent support, often exceeding our part-time assignment to ensure seamless coordination amidst design and field challenges. #OCimpacts | On Thursday, September 12th, we had the privilege of participating in the Helix Charter High School Career Fair, where over 2,500 students attended throughout the day! Our very own Sr. Construction Manager, Enrique Rodriguez, and Project Engineer, Celestina Rodriguez, were there to share insights into careers in Construction Management, Project Management, and Cost Estimating. Students came prepared with great questions, guided by a brochure that prompted them to ask: 1?) What qualities do you look for in a candidate? 2?) What does a typical day look like for you? 3?) What advice would you give someone interested in this career? It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the next generation of professionals and inspire future leaders in the CM/PM and Cost Estimating fields. Thank you, Helix HS, for hosting such a meaningful event! We look forward to supporting young minds as they explore exciting career opportunities.
