Upon completion of construction, DEC will assume day-to-day trail management, working closely with stakeholders and municipalities. We’re proud to work with our agency partners to fulfill Governor Hochul’s commitment to creating a recreational rail trail that would allow residents and visitors to easily experience the scenic Adirondacks and their local communities. The final construction phase began in August 2024 and includes improving the trail's final segment from Floodwood Road to Tupper Lake. When complete, the shared-use path will be open for hikers, bikers, cross-country skiers, and snowmobile enthusiasts all year. Governor Kathy Hochul’s FY 2026 Executive Budget includes record investments to support New Yorkers without raising income taxes. Today in New York City, OGS Commissioner Jeanette Moy met with the Asian American Federation to present details on how the Governor’s proposals will help working families by: ? Making New York more affordable through middle-class tax cuts, inflation refund checks, and tripling the child tax credit. ? Increasing housing supply with $1 billion for New York City’s “City of Yes” plan, new homeowner protections, and down payment assistance. ? Addressing subway safety by increasing NYPD staffing and National Guard presence, and $35 million for Securing Communities Against Hate Crimes grants. ? Expanding access to mental health care with teen mental health training and wellness in historically marginalized neighborhoods.
