Big news for EV drivers! ???? Governor Kathy Hochul announced $21 million is now available to install electric vehicle fast chargers along major travel corridors in New York State funded by a federal National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Grant. The first round will focus on locations along Interstate 84, areas of the state north to the Canadian border, and west to Buffalo. NYSERDA, in partnership with the NYS Department of Transportation, is helping EV developers bring more fast chargers to these key routes through the competitive Upstate Direct Current Fast Charger program. https://lnkd.in/eTqWBekQ

The Climate Justice Fellowship Plus Program, with $3 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Labor & support from Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez , is now available! The NYSERDA team and other state and local leaders joined ?rsted U.S. at the Port of Coeymans assembly hub to celebrate the significant progress on Sunrise Wind’s construction. At the Port of Coeymans, work is underway to construct prefabricated components for offshore wind turbines. Once complete, the components will be shipped down the Hudson River and out to the Sunrise Wind offshore wind farm site, located in federal waters. Union workers are playing a key role in building New York’s largest offshore wind project. Sunrise Wind is creating more than 230 jobs in construction and steel manufacturing, from the Capital Region to Western New York. More than half of the advanced foundation components for Sunrise Wind’s offshore turbines are now complete, as the project gears up for offshore construction in 2025.

NYSERDA is seeking appliance vendors for the EmPower+ Program to deliver and install energy-efficient refrigerators and freezers to households deemed eligible for no-cost appliance replacements. NYSERDA announced the inaugural 2025 voluntary Tier 1 Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) Pre-Sale for commercial, industrial, municipal, institutional, and educational organizations, as well as load serving entities. The inaugural sale recently closed with 58,500 RECs sold, totaling more than $1.4 million!?? NYSERDA sources Tier 1 RECs from recently built New York based renewable energy projects such as solar, wind, and hydro generators. All sales support local renewable energy projects throughout the state. The purchasers will be able to claim the environmental benefits that come with them.
