The first-ever Roundabout in the City of Syracuse, which was constructed as part of the I-81 Viaduct Project, is enhancing safety and improving traffic flow for motorists exiting Interstate 481 southbound (future Interstate 81) and those entering I-81 northbound replaces a traditional traffic signal intersection. The roundabout will operate in a temporary alignment until work is completed on the new East Glen Avenue connection. The final alignment of the new roundabout will be in place by the end of 2025, complete with full pedestrian crossings, including rectangular rapid flashing beacons, pavement markings and directional signage.

We hold in our thoughts three of our own, Ignatius Adanga, Charles Lesperance, and See Wong Shum, who were tragically taken from us. As we reflect on this day, we also pay tribute to the heroic public servants and first responders who demonstrated unmatched courage and selflessness, rushing to aid those in need.
