The NYC Innovation Hot Spot (IHS) provides business incubator services to qualified entities to facilitate company growth and encourage job creation. Led by CUNY Industrial and Applied Research (IAR), the NYC IHS coordinates a rich regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, partnering with 50+ local incubators, accelerators, deep technology mentors, commercialization experts, venture capital funds, and other entrepreneurial service providers across all five boroughs of NYC. Operated in coordination with the leadership of the NY I-Corps Hub, NYC IHS provides incubators and their company members opportunities to participate in I-Corps and SBIR/STTE entrepreneurship training and to access certain New York State tax benefits.

Today marks the grand finale of the?Winter 2025 Long Island Regional I-Corps Bootcamp hosted by the New York I-Corps Hub and Stony Brook University College of Engineering and Applied Sciences! The NYC Innovation Hot Spot and the New York I-Corps Hub got to explore innovation firsthand at the CCNY Grove School of Engineering (GSOE) 2025 Expo, an annual event bringing together students, faculty, industry professionals, and employers to showcase research and innovation across all engineering and computer science disciplines! Held in The Great Hall of Shepard Hall, the event provided a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration. The Hall’s historic mural, The Graduate by Edwin H. Blashfield, served as a fitting backdrop - symbolizing the passing of knowledge from one generation to the next. In a room full of innovators, you never know which idea will evolve into the next game-changing technology - or even the next unicorn!!
