On October 7, 2024, NYC Her Future’s Chief of Staff, Natalia Diaz was invited to speak at NYC Citywide Administrative Services special CityTalk panel celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! The theme was “Unity in Action: Hispanic Heritage and NYC’s Future”. Influential Hispanic leaders in New York City government shared their personal stories, contributions, and insights on diversity and representation. It was a POWERFUL conversation on leadership and progress as attendees walked away with an understanding of how the Hispanic community’s resilience, innovation, and unity are shaping the future of New York City! ?? Meet Natalia Diaz, NYC Her Future’s inaugural Chief of Staff!?? With a strong cultural identity as a Latina and child of immigrants, she brings an authentic perspective to the implementation and focus of the agency. A cornerstone of organizational leadership, she helps ensure that every initiative and program is seamlessly executed to align with the larger vision of the office. As a tenured city veteran, Diaz’s pivotal role blends strategic foresight and meticulous coordination, empowering teams to activate innovative, programmatic efforts on behalf of New Yorkers. Diaz previously served as the director of programs for the Young Men’s Initiative (YMI), having worked with the YMI team from June 2015 to March 2024. At YMI, while rising through the organization’s ranks, she oversaw the investments made in education programming while also supporting the development of new programs, partnerships, and initiatives. Prior to joining YMI, Diaz was the New York organizing manager for Young Invincibles, where she served as a navigator in New York’s Hudson Valley and served as junior board co-president for St. Christopher’s Inc. in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Diaz received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Mount Saint Vincent, and her Master’s in Public Administration from Pace University. She reports to the executive director of NYC Her Future, Nathifa Forde. NYC Her Future ???? Athlos On September 26, 2024, Athlos hosted a women’s track & field event featuring 36 of the world’s fastest women in the world and Olympic Champions! ?? ATHLOS seeks to ensure that the stories of woman athletes are told and remain at the forefront while pushing forward positive change by helping to identify systems that have failed athletes. NYC Her Future was delighted to extend an invitation to the young people in our community partners network and they had a blast! With an influx of new followers, it’s time for some official introductions! ?? Meet Nathifa Forde, the founding Executive Director of NYC Her Future! ?? With over a decade of dedicated service in NYC’s nonprofit sector, Nathifa brings her powerful vision and expertise in policy, programs, and community engagement to lead our mission of creating new pathways for young women across NYC. From her impactful work at the Young Men’s Initiative to her role at the NYC Center for Youth Employment, she has consistently championed equity and opportunity for young people of color. Nathifa is an alumna of CUNY holding both a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from Medgar Evers College and a Master of Public Administration from Bernard M. Baruch College.
