In addition, The Department of Finance also: ? Records property-related documents; ? Administers exemption and abatement programs; ? Adjudicates and collects parking tickets; ? Maintains the city's treasury; ? Participates on and provides administrative support for the NYC Banking Commission ? Acts as the City's chief civil law enforcement officer The Department of Finance, through the Mayor's Office of Pensions and Investments, also advises the Administration on the $160 billion City pension system and $15 billion deferred compensation plan. Congratulations are in order for several DOF team members who were recognized last month at the Mayor’s 2024 Excellence in Customer Service Awards. ? The team award for Excellence in Customer Service went to the Queens City Register / Land Records Research Library: ?Vanessa Goodwin, Mansoor Ali, Nikita Bakker-Pierre, Katherlean Harris, Joshua Love, Crystal Terry, and Heena Shah. The Queens City Register’s Office assists thousands of customers per week with unfailing dedication and professionalism. The individual Excellence in Customer Service Award went to Quentin Brown of the Payments, Billing, and Refunds Division. Quentin is an outstanding public servant who always goes above and beyond to serve our customers and support his colleagues. Congratulations, everyone!

#DYK – The Office of the Parking Summons Advocate acts to independently assist unrepresented and underrepresented members of the public with parking and camera violation issues and complaints. The office acts as an intermediary between the public, DOF units, and other agencies involved in the parking summons adjudication process; informs the public about parking laws, rules, regulations, and related Department of Finance policies and procedures; and identifies, reports, and recommends solutions to systemic problems and issues in the parking summons adjudication process.
