Diana Muheirwe’s Impactful Session with Nyaka University Students. At Nyaka, we believe in nurturing young minds and equipping them with the skills and mindset to become confident leaders. Recently we were honored to host Diana Muheirwe a certified John Maxwell Coach and CEO of Bloom Solutions, for a transformative session with university students. Diana’s expertise in coaching, training, and leadership development resonated deeply with our students. She was particularly impressed by their positive attitude toward learning and eagerness to engage despite coming from vulnerable backgrounds. The session provided insights, helping them unlock their potential, build confidence, and make informed life choices. As Diana emphasized, these trainings are essential in empowering young people to avoid past mistakes and lead with purpose and passion. A heartfelt thank you to Beautiful World Canada for their support in making these activities possible. Your commitment to funding education and personal development programs is shaping a brighter future for young people in Uganda. #LeadershipDevelopment #EmpoweringYouth #Nyaka #BeautifulWorldCanada #TransformingLives #EducationMatters

Nyaka works with communities to nurture and protect children so they can learn, grow, and thrive.
关于我们
Nyaka is a locally-led NGO providing community-based solutions to address the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children in rural Southwest Uganda. Nyaka was founded in 2001, beginning as a small two-room schoolhouse for 55 orphaned children. In just 20 years it has grown into a unique, holistic model to help orphaned and vulnerable children in rural Uganda escape poverty. When the community identifies a child in need, Nyaka looks to find a solution. Nyaka surrounds each child with a complete support system. This system consists of interrelated programs developed and led by the community, where children are nurtured and protected so they can learn, grow, and thrive. Nyaka currently serves an estimated 80,000 orphaned and vulnerable children as well as 20,000 grandmothers. Nyaka has built three schools and introduced numerous programs to give children the best chance at success. Programs include a clean water system, nutrition program, grandmother program, community libraries, health clinics, and an SGBV program, which combats sexual and domestic violence. These programs work together to provide an all-comprehensive community to surround orphaned and vulnerable children.

Celebrating the Unstoppable Spirit of Women: Inspired by My Mother, Canon Jolly Hope Babirukamu Today, I celebrate the incredible women in my life and around the world who are making a difference every single day. Their strength, resilience, and unwavering determination are a constant source of inspiration. And speaking of inspiration, I have to shine a light on my own personal superhero: my mother, Canon Jolly Hope Babirukamu. A trained teacher turned serial altruist, my mother embodies the word "relentless." She possesses the resilience of a warrior, overcoming countless obstacles and losses with unwavering strength. At 75, she's a force to be reckoned with! From building a thriving textile business spanning over four decades to advocating for vulnerable women and children, my mother's empathy and ability to mobilize people are truly remarkable. She's a master networker with a heart of gold, always present and supportive. Today, I'm channeling her spirit of empathy and action. Let's amplify the voices of women everywhere, celebrate their achievements, and work together to create a more equitable and just world. What woman in your life inspires you? Share their story in the comments below! Let's use our voices to uplift and empower one another. #WomensHistoryMonth #InternationalWomensDay #WomenSupportingWomen #Inspiration #RoleModel #MyMotherMyHero**

Super honored to join the global celebration of International #WomensDay. And as Nyaka, today, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting gender equality and empowering women to reach their full potential. One critical area that requires our attention is #financialinclusion. Women's participation in the financial sphere is essential for driving positive change and achieving sustainable development. Unfortunately, women continue to face significant barriers in accessing financial services, hindering their ability to start businesses, invest in their education, and support their families. At Nyaka Global, we recognize the transformative power of financial inclusion and through Nyaka Microfinance we continue to promote equal access to financial services, so we may continue to unlock women's full potential and create a more equitable society. We believe that financial inclusion is not only a moral imperative but also a sound economic strategy. When women have control over their financial lives, they invest in their families, communities, and economies. This, in turn, drives sustainable development, reduces poverty, and promotes economic growth. As we celebrate #InternationalWomensDay, I urge governments, businesses, and civil society organizations to join us in promoting financial inclusion for women. Together, we can create a world where women have equal access to financial services, opportunities, and resources. Let us harness the power of #financialinclusion to drive positive change and unlock the full potential of women worldwide. Happy International Women's Day!

Our CEO Twesigye Jackson Kaguri is currently visiting India, with his former classmates from the Harvard University 2023 Advanced Leadership Initiative cohort. This inspiring visit has taken him to Delhi, where he visited the Taj Mahal Temple and also met with indian grandmothers whose resilience mirrors the strength of the grandmothers we support at Nyaka. He also visited the host University, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, a hub of innovation and education, where Harvard collaborates to drive impactful change. There’s so much to learn from these experiences and insights that will shape Nyaka’s sustainability journey over the next 5 to 10 years. Stay tuned as we bring you more updates on this visit. #LeadershipInAction #GlobalLearning #SustainableImpact
