The latest report from NYLPI's Environmental Justice team, in partnership with?NY Renews “Flouting the Law: Major State Agencies Are Ignoring New York’s Climate Mandates,” exposes critical failures in how New York state agencies are implementing the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Climate Act). This key legislation aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions and ensure that clean energy investments benefit all communities, especially those most overburdened by environmental harm. Our report reveals that major projects, including highway expansions and clean energy initiatives, are advancing without climate and equity screenings required by this law.
