This week in Chicago was a rush of energy and determination on display.?I was humbled to join my LIUNA brothers and sisters there – and watch General President Brent Booker address the convention! And I felt privileged to participate in some of the thousands of conversations that were happening across the city, all focused on ideas and plans to improve life for working people.
I was especially happy to join DMA's roundtable (thank you!) with the impressive Mayors Kate Gallego, Justin M. Bibb, and Ron Nirenberg to discuss how unions and city government can partner on implementation of infrastructure. We finally got to thank Regina Romero and Corey Woods in person for their strong and brave support for prevailing wage laws in Arizona.?The future of good jobs is going to be built on the works of Mayors like these!
Also amazing to catch up with friends in labor or government from across the country.?Truly could not be more grateful for the chance to grab history by the tail this week.
