NW Works is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to empower adults with disabilities and others with barriers to employment to build skills, and gain and maintain meaningful employment. We do this through a number of services including Vocational Rehabilitation, Group Day Support programs, Community Engagement, school-to-work training programs for students with disabilities, and Career Services for non-disabled individuals. We envision a society in which all individuals are treated with dignity and respect, where all people are afforded equal opportunities to meet their goals. We will strive to obtain this through informing, educating, and being a resource for those we serve and partner.

We’re grateful to celebrate Jonah, a valued member of the AMC Theatres team who brightens every guest’s visit as a ticket collector and greeter. Jonah loves his job, especially seeing friends and creating a fun atmosphere. “Working at AMC is fun, and I hope everyone comes to the movie theatre I work at!” he says. Thanks to NW Works, a dedicated job coach, and a supportive community, Jonah has thrived in a role once thought beyond reach, proving the power of opportunity and inclusion. At NW Works, we are inspired by individuals like Nicky, whose journey has been shaped by our community. Nicky volunteers at the Knights of Columbus Food Pantry, where he organizes food for those in need. His commitment there, along with the skills he's building at NW Works, has prepared him for work on our production floor. Recently, Nicky challenged himself to complete 60 kits in four hours and surpassed his goal, celebrating with his supervisor, Mel. On this Gratitude Tuesday, we express our gratitude to our business partners, donors, and supporters who make Nicky’s success possible. Welcome to our new followers! If you missed it, here are a few highlights as we wrap up October, which is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! We featured four outstanding employees; Shannon, Nicky, Agazzi and Cynthia whose stories you can read on here or through our website. https://lnkd.in/eK3q6SUs On October 22nd we began closing down our garden to prepare for the cooler weather. The garden provided opportunities for NW Works team members through cooking lessons, healthy eating choices, and best practices for harvesting produce. In the last couple days we've had two spirit days with more to come! Our staff and team members enjoyed a change in routine, spending time outside, and gearing up for Halloween!
