“Our partnership with the Home Builders Association of Northwest Indiana focuses on education. We want real estate professionals to be familiar with new construction communities so in turn they can provide guidance to their clients,” said McColly Real Estate Director of New Homes Division and Career Development Heather McColly. McColly highlighted the vital role of new home construction in the continued growth of Northwest Indiana. "It's essential,” McColly said. “We’re really fortunate to have so many wonderful builders in our communities, new home construction creates a ripple effect. An effect that includes commercial infrastructure like medical buildings, shopping centers and restaurants.”?

David Rosenberg and the panelists also called attention to specific local achievements, such as the $1 billion Microsoft Azure data center set to arrive in City of La Porte, and the recent completion of the over $600 million South Shore Line Passenger Service Double Track Project. George Douglas, director of development for the City of Valparaiso, took part in the panel and praised his?fellows?for their efforts. “This room is filled with great people who are moving economic development,” he said. “Growth isn’t led by any one entity or initiative, it’s a group thing. “The staff at the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority as well as the HAMMOND SPORTSPLEX are tremendous,” Daegar said. “The support we receive from not only them but the entire community – the hotel providers, the local vendors – really makes this a special event for our student-athletes. The leagues are really excited about continuing that relationship in future years."

Over 100 golfers took to the course on Monday to support Big Shoulders Fund Northwest Indiana and raise funds to benefit the Founder’s Advisory Council Scholarship. The program provides tuition assistance for students in the Region, empowering their families to choose a school that best fits their needs!
