NW Furniture Bank serves as the primary furniture source for agencies across Pierce, South King, Clark, and Cowlitz Counties, boasting locations in Tacoma and Vancouver, WA. Our organization collects and warehouses furniture for clients referred to us by community partners. As families and individuals progress through programs and transitional housing to rebuild their lives, they often find themselves with little or no possessions. Affording housing and food is a struggle for many, making basic furniture an unattainable luxury, including essentials like a bed or a table. Furniture is not just a convenience; it is a fundamental need that profoundly influences how people perceive themselves and their workplace or school performance. Clients initiate the process by completing a furniture request form with an Approved Caseworker. Subsequently, they schedule a shopping appointment with us and are paired with a volunteer shopper who assists them in navigating our warehouse to select the furniture needed for their household.

I spent the afternoon building furniture for the NW Furniture Bank in downtown Tacoma as part of Heritage Bank NW’s Volunteer Day. Please consider donating your gently used furniture!! The furniture bank serves people in our community who have little to no furniture (e.g., survivors of domestic violence, those experiencing loss due to fire or natural disasters, foster children, and particularly families emerging from transitional housing seeking to reconstruct their lives). They serve Pierce, South King, Clark, and Cowlitz Counties - and the need for donations is constant. They also have a partnership with IKEA, which is how we ended up building furniture today.

We are looking for a Truck Driver in Tacoma WA! Have an impact in your community everyday here at NW Furniture Bank! ? Customer service: interact with our public and corporate donors, and also with our clients. In many cases you are the face of the furniture bank and you must put the client, donor or volunteer first. ? Assist in lifting furniture (must be able to lift 75 pounds) ? Spray and tag all incoming donations and enter items into inventory ? Organize inventory and put away all incoming donations ? Responsible for checking off items as they are loaded on truck and delivered ? Must be 21 years of age ? Clean driving record ? I'm constantly inspired by the numerous ways our community embraces the power of reuse. Haley Haines and her incredible team at NW Furniture Bank exemplify this spirit in Pierce County and beyond. As I toured the facility, I couldn't help but feel excited about how they transform community donations into life-changing opportunities for families in need. Individuals and families get to choose everything they need to furnish their homes—from couches to kitchen dishes. Look them up, help them out and celebrate their success!!
