This past week, the team at our Harry Allen Generating Station welcomed the engineering team from @LVCVA for a "hard hat tour" of the station.?? The tour helped foster engaging conversations and allowed for both sides to exchange ideas to continue the great partnership already in place!? ? Fun Fact: One of the engineers from LVCVA engineering team was a part of the team that built Harry Allen!?

Elevating the voices and experiences of women in business is always smart business. NV Energy was proud to sponsor the Vegas Chamber’s Executive Women’s Council’s recognition of International Women’s Day.
Yesterday morning, the Vegas Chamber's Executive Women’s Council hosted a sold-out gathering in celebration of International Women’s Day, bringing together a powerful network of female leaders. Attendees heard an inspiring conversation on Setbacks & Comebacks with World Champion athlete Marion Jones, highlighting resilience and growth. Special recognition was given to Susan Hitch, CFO of Circa Resort & Casino, for her leadership and contributions, and to Kristi Staab, EMBA for securing the keynote speaker. Gina Bongiovi, NACD.DC (dedicated Vegas Chamber leader) and Danna Jarvis (Executive Director of Operations at Hightower Las Vegas and Chairwoman of the Executive Women’s Council) also shared remarks on the importance of fostering women’s leadership. This event would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors, including Presenting Sponsor Howard Hughes and Platinum Sponsor UNLV Lee Business School Executive MBA program, along with Gold Sponsors Bank of Nevada, Cragin & Pike, Hightower Las Vegas, the Vegas Chamber’s Leadership Foundation, and NV Energy. Thank you to Circa Las Vegas Resort & Casino for hosting this inspiring morning of connection and celebration. Last night, mylar balloons got tangled up with NV Energy infrastructure at a substation, leading to an outage for more than 10,000 customers in the downtown Las Vegas area. Our crews responded to the outage and worked to quickly and safely clear the debris and restore power. When the metallic lining in theses balloons comes into contact with equipment, they can cause the equipment to fail, resulting in an outage. Customers should abide the following mylar balloon safety tips: * Tether Mylar balloons * When disposing of the balloons, puncture them to release the helium. This will prevent the balloons from coming into contact with the power lines and causing a power outage * Do not try to retrieve the balloon from the power line, instead please contact NV Energy to report the problem Learn more about mylar balloons here: https://t.co/BXa2AhsREL
