Power Safe NV has wrapped up another successful project in the Tahoe Basin! This marks a continuation of our efforts that started in 2023. This year, we rebuilt 3.2 miles of line along State Route 28, replacing 75 poles and installing covered conductor wire to enhance reliability and reduce fire risks. Our vegetation management team removed 1,972 hazard stems, requiring 1,066 helicopter flight cycles. Thanks to our NV Energy and contract teams, the work was finished ahead of schedule and without any safety incidents. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our Lake Tahoe Basin customers. Recently, NV Energy and IBEW local 1245 hosted a Skills Showcase, opening up our Reno training facility to the public to demonstrate the variety of apprenticeships, training programs, and careers in the trades available at #NVEnergy. Work is underway on NV Energy’s Sierra Solar project! Sierra Solar is a 400-megawatt solar and four-hour 400-megawatt battery energy storage system, located 30 miles from the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. The expected completion dates are July 2026 for the battery energy storage system and April 2027 for the solar. #ThisIsWhatWeDo
