Go Red for Women is an initiative we are proud to support for many reasons, including these noteworthy stats: ?? Nearly 45% of women ages 20+ are living with some form of cardiovascular disease. ?? Less than half of women entering pregnancy in the U.S. have optimal cardiovascular health. ?? Women experience unique life stages, such as pregnancy and menopause, that can put them at an increased risk for cardiovascular disease. We had the honor of sponsoring the Go Red for Women luncheon and celebrating the work of Vassar Brothers Medical Center President Susan Browning, who served as chair this year. We are so grateful to the American Heart Association for also spotlighting stroke awareness and survivor, Jodi Hammell, who shared her experience to help others. Our goal is for the women in our community to feel confident in making health-related decisions, with a clear understanding of their bodies and risk factors. Share this post with the women in your life and remind them to take care of their heart health ??

Premature birth occurs in about 11% to 13% of pregnancies in the U.S. each year. ???? Loving these little miracles comes easily, and our team is inspired by the wonderful possibilities ahead for each baby as they grow strong. Estelle is one of these miracles who is thriving today! She created a commemorative bracelet called "Small but Fierce" to raise funds for our NICUs. ?? Estelle's passion for this fundraiser is personal. She shares: “I was born at the Danbury Hospital NICU over 20 years ago, and this cause is close to my heart. Net profits from sales of the bracelets will benefit neonatal intensive care units across Nuvance Health to ensure our tiniest patients and their families receive the care and support they need." Custom-made "Small but Fierce" bracelets are available in silver or gold accents for $15 until November 22.
