?? On Sunday, Oct 27, Nucleate Pittsburgh celebrated all 200 trainees for their dedication at Bakery Square's AI Avenue during BioHack 2024! ?? Here, our ambitious trainees tackled some of the greatest challenges in LifeTech using AI, ML, and robotics, supported by our 15 industry partners and 50+ mentors. ?? Over 25 teams submitted their final pitches, with ten teams selected to deliver their pitch live. Congratulations to all BioHackers! A special shoutout to the winners in each track: ?? The Nucleate Pittsburgh BioHack 2024 was a huge success! There were 200 students, 25 teams, 6 universities, and over 50 mentors. ?? One team built a high-throughput workflow automating the design, build, test, learn (DBTL) cycle for building protein condensates in a cloud lab or automated cell biology lab. ?? A few teams built AI-powered software platforms for helping enroll patients in clinical trials while adhering to strict inclusion and exclusion criteria. Enrolling patients in clinical trials is one of the biggest speed limits for completing clinical trials. ?? One team built a wearable device with integrated software to help individuals complete physical therapy at home, which is platform agnostic to improve adoption from PT clinics. ?? Another team built a automated device for cleaning fluid pumps post surgery or wounds, which is a time-consuming process that, if not performed, can lead to serious infections or death. ?? And so many more great builds! Nucleate Pittsburgh and Nucleate Philly also announced they've formed Nucleate Pennsylvania. This allows biotech startups from Pittsburgh to participate in the Activator Program for the first time, which is a startup competition that comes with mentorship from industry experts, advisors, networking, and up to $2 million in funding. I'm so proud of the Nucleate Pittsburgh team for the massive effort that went into BioHack 2024. I hope they recognize how much they've accomplished in such a short time. I can't wait until a Pittsburgh biotech startup wins Activator, or raises a huge Series A, or is the IPO everyone on Wall Street is talking about. If we keep leveraging our deep and diverse talent, then it's inevitable. Let's go make it happen. Solt DB will keep scaling its support to match your ambitions.
