North Texas Association of Environmental Professionals and Abby Holovach, MS, CHMM, CSP, REP delivered an incredibly insightful presentation on Confined Space Hazards. Unfortunately it can be human nature to expect the best case scenario and try to avoid answering the question below. While I no longer find myself working in confined spaces, I do realize how lucky I was to make it in and out of manholes in the past unscathed. There are plenty of hazards that exist that I was unaware of, and I consider myself fortunate to have never encountered. Biggest takeaway: preparation, training, and communication can make all the difference in these situations.
