Do wishes really come true at The Real Deal? 2017 was the first time I attended The Real Deal event. I vividly remember sitting in the audience, listening to a panel filled with Miami’s real estate movers and shakers. The speakers were undoubtedly top of their game, but their storytelling didn’t quite pull me in—until Jay Parker, South Florida CEO of Douglas Elliman, took the mic. His way of speaking about Miami’s real estate had me sitting on the edge of my seat, captivated by every word. At that moment, I made a wish: to one day work under his leadership and speak about Miami’s real estate with the same passion and authority. That wish came true. I had the privilege of spending an incredible five+ years at Douglas Elliman, learning, growing, and experiencing the world of real estate alongside some of the best in the business. Fast forward to this year’s Real Deal event. Amidst the buzz and excitement, my mind was constantly busy with a new horizon: development. Working for and with a real estate developer. I’ve even picked a dream project that intrigues me - not just because of its scope but because it combines multiple asset classes, opening up opportunities for dynamic, global storytelling. In a perfect world, I’d have my hard hat and steel-toe boots ready to walk the site, immersed in the construction and the energy of building something transformative. And just as easily, I’d hop on a plane to share the story of that very development with audiences across the globe.
