This week we are excited to welcome Tien Do, Founder and CEO, InDZone Consulting LLC and Sean Horigan, VP of Operations, Sponte Operating, Inc. They will be sharing a presentation titled: Frac Geometry Control (FGC) Approach: Proven Strategy for Mitigating FDI and Enhancing Well Performance in Haynesville. Parent-child well interactions (FDI) remain a key challenge in the Haynesville Basin, often reducing child well performance. Optimized completions and shorten infill timing are essential to minimizing interference. Field implementation has proven Frac Geometry Control (FGC) as an effective solution to protect both parent and child wells while enhancing overall production. Data confirms that FGC improves production and pressure decline versus previous child well iterations. Additional benefits, such as reduced pump times, positive ISIP responses, and even parent well enhancement, further reinforce its value. Early production from new drills using FGC validates increased Stimulated Reservoir Volume (SRV) and improved cluster uniformity in the mid- and far-field. Moving forward, FGC will remain a critical component of Sponte’s strategy for child well development and new drills, ensuring long-term asset optimization. Per Erik Berger will be sharing a presentation titled: Coring While Drilling: Eliminating Invisible Lost Time and Improving Operational Efficiency in Coring. ? There has been little new technology in coring in the last decades until CoreAll from Norway introduced the world’s first downhole instrumented coring system. The Intelligent Coring System with the Logging While Coring tool has been completed and is now available in Norway and in the US. The ICS is an instrumented core drilling bottom hole assembly, complete with formation evaluation and drilling optimization sensors (Gamma Ray and Core Resistivity, Downhole Vibration, Near-Bit Inclination, and core jam indicator), data processing, and real time data transmission to surface. ? The CoDril? downhole convertible drill bit is a complementary module to the ICS main assembly and will make it possible to alternate between coring and drilling modes by activation from surface, reducing the requirement to trip to surface to change between coring and drilling BHAs. This game-changing drilling technology has been proven in test well operations, and the first field test was successfully completed for Aker BP in June 24. ? The presentation will introduce these new technologies in core drilling and demonstrate how they can be used to optimize the coring process and save time and cost in coring operations.
