Intelligent space systems and robotics is a major theme of research and workforce development in SHREC, Pittsburgh is the leading city for robotics in the nation, and so we were thrilled to display some of our work and technology at the Pittsburgh Robotics Discovery Day. So proud of our SHREC students! https://lnkd.in/egTwEFEh

For the Pitt Space seminar series, we were most honored to host a distinguished speaker and space scientist, Dr.?Vicky?Hamilton, Institute Scientist at Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, CO. Her talk on “NASA’s OSIRIS-REx Asteroid Sample Return Mission: Synergies Between Robotic Exploration and Returned Sample Science" was exciting, educational, and motivational to our space students and faculty alike. #pitt #space #h2p

As part of Pitt Space, SHREC is proud to be leading this effort on workforce development in space engineering for the US space community.
With focus on workforce development, Pitt Space is developing two academic programs in?Space Engineering.??One is a 10-credit?Graduate Certificate, and the other is a 15-credit?Undergraduate Minor. Each new program will build upon existing strengths of the various engineering degrees at Pitt to prepare graduates for the space workforce.?In support of both academic programs, five cross-listed (graduate and senior) courses in?Space Engineering?are being offered annually as of the 2024-25 academic year.??Each course provides students with critical background, knowledge, and skills needed in the space workforce and is open to a broad range of engineering and science students. https://lnkd.in/ehAM9Ncz #pitt #space #h2p

I am excited to announce that as of this morning, I have successfully defended my PhD Preliminary Exam entitled, "TAU: Trust via Asynchronous Updates for Satellite Network Resiliency". I would like to thank my committee members Mai Abdelhakim, Robert Cunningham, and Alan George for taking the time to evaluate my work, and I would like to thank everyone else for their support during this process. I could not have done this alone.
