3D-Printed PEEK Tip-Tilt Sensor – Built with Precision and Innovation Here’s a look at a 3D-manufactured tip-tilt sensor made from high-performance PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone), fabricated on the nScrypt 3Dn-Series system using a combination of advanced manufacturing processes. This isn’t just 3D printing - The build integrates: Milling for precision features Pick-and-place to embed components mid-print Microdispensing of conductive circuits UV-curable dielectric materials for insulation and protection UV curing for strong adhesion and material stability Multiple sensors, circuits, and packages were embedded directly into the structure—eliminating traditional assembly steps and resulting in a compact, durable, and fully functional sensor. Developed in collaboration with the Department of Defense (DoD), this project demonstrates the power of multi-process manufacturing to fabricate complex systems in a single build. #AdditiveManufacturing #3DPrinting #PEEK #AdvancedManufacturing #nScrypt #DefenseTech #Microdispensing #EmbeddedElectronics #DoDCollaboration #SmartManufacturing

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology’s Larry (LJ) Holmes, Executive Director for the Center of Advanced Manufacturing and Materials, recently joined Joris Peels and Max Bogue on the 3DPOD Podcast to discuss the role of additive manufacturing in defense and other critical industries. “Traditional electronics packaging and rigid potting of electronics in missiles and rockets won’t withstand the launch and load conditions of today’s missions. Our two biggest growth areas are additive manufacturing for electronics and expeditionary manufacturing—bringing manufacturing to the point of need.” One technology making this possible? nScrypt’s multi-functional manufacturing systems. “Right now, nScrypt offers the only equipment that allows me to combine additive, subtractive, pick and place, laser scanning, milling, drilling, polishing, and circuit printing—all in a single unit. Many companies attempt multifunctional systems, but none I’ve tested match nScrypt’s precision, accuracy, and full range of capabilities.” nScrypt’s technology is enabling groundbreaking advancements in ruggedized, high-performance electronics for the most demanding applications.
