HYPE (Heartland Young Professional Empowerment), is a groundbreaking coalition to unite Black professional organizations and individuals from diverse industries. We aim to foster meaningful connections, uncover resources, and create collaborative opportunities to ensure mutual success across our communities. This is a new initiative led by the Heartland Black Chamber and will be a great opportunity to network with Black professionals in the community. During the National Society of Black Engineers 49th Annual Convention, Jacobs hosted a STEAM Day at University Academy in Kansas City, where students explored STEAM opportunities through hands-on activities led by Jacobs employees. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas joined the event, and Jacobs donated $5,000 to support the school’s STEAM programs! This engagement led to the launch of a new NSBE Jr. chapter at University Academy, now supported by NSBE Kansas City Professionals. We’re looking for volunteers to assist in programming during: KidWind (Lower School): Tuesdays, 2:30–4:30 PM TEN80 (Middle School): Thursdays, 2:30–4:30 PM TEN80 (Upper School): Saturdays, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM Interested in making an impact? Contact us to start the volunteer onboarding process!

Giving props to my alma mater, Kansas State University , for showing our NSBE Jr. students an unforgettable time! The K-State NSBE Chapter truly rolled out the purple carpet for this college tour ????. A huge shoutout to my executive board at NSBE Kansas City Professionals for the perfect logistical alley-oop, and a special thank you to the Lee's Summit School District and Lee's Summit West High School for allowing this to happen. This is just the beginning—excited for what’s ahead in advancing STEM education across the KC Metro!
