MEET THE COUNCIL: Jessica Thomas, E.I.T. Jessica Thomas isn’t just designing buildings—she’s building a stronger future for STEM and her community. A Structural Engineer in Texas, Jessica specializes in both Structural Design and Forensic Analysis. With a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the The University of Texas at Arlington, she brings a wealth of expertise to her field. During her graduate studies, Jessica conducted non-destructive testing on bridge elements for the Texas Department of Transportation, gaining hands-on experience in ensuring infrastructure safety. She later worked as a Forensic Structural Specialist, investigating structural failures before transitioning to her current role as a Design Engineer at Jacobs, where she plays a pivotal role in designing complex structural systems for major projects, including airports, government facilities, mission-critical centers, laboratories, and large-scale manufacturing sites. Beyond engineering, Jessica is shaping the future of STEM leadership. She is the President of the NSBE DFW Professionals, leading an organization that has grown significantly under her leadership. Passionate about fostering a sense of belonging in STEM, she is committed to expanding NSBE DFW’s impact through professional development and community outreach. ?
