I was honored to represent NSBE Boston Professionals - National Society of Black Engineers as a panelist in the Youth Climate Quest Career Round Table hosted by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs as well as the Bowdoin Street Health Ctr Career Panel! Both events were a wonderful opportunity to connect with high school students and support them on their career journeys. I look forward to participating in more events like this in the future!

Barbershop Talks: Black Men’s Suicide Prevention & Chronic Health Support At NSBE Boston, we recognize that health is essential to empowering Black engineers to excel and positively impact their communities. That’s why we’re hosting Barbershop Talks on Nov 23 as part of our Movember Challenge, focusing on Black men’s mental wellness, suicide prevention, and chronic health support. This event couldn’t be more timely. According to Johns Hopkins, Black men die by suicide at rates four to six times higher than Black women, and suicide is the third leading cause of death among young Black men. We’re taking action to create a space for these critical conversations, providing resources and support to foster resilience and community well-being. Featured Speaker: Dr. Martin Pierre, staff psychologist at Brandeis University Counseling Center, past president of the Massachusetts Psychological Association, and co-founder of Ashmont Counseling Center, will lead discussions on navigating these challenges while balancing professional and personal lives.
