Delta Reservations Intern | Data Science Student at CWRU | ELC Scholar | MLT Career Prep Fellow

Hello, LinkedIn Family! Last week, I completed my internship at Delta Airlines in the Reservations and Care Division. All Praise be to God for guiding me through this incredible journey. During my semester working at Delta, I evaluated the existing smart transfer process to identify its structure and areas for improvement. Using SQL and Tableau, I conducted in-depth data analysis to assess the current process, estimating potential cost savings and reductions in call handle time. I also designed and led surveys and focus groups, utilizing sentiment analysis to uncover actionable insights. Additionally, I contributed to the Uplift Program by developing next steps to increase participation, focusing on engagement strategies and data-driven recommendations. This internship has been nothing short of transformative and incredible. My time at Delta has not only developed my technical skills but also shaped me as a professional. I want to say a HUGE thank you to the team that led me with the smart transfer optimization effort including (but not limited to) Amy Schwarber Michael Upshur, Undrea Mathis, and Christopher M.. These thanks extend to the Business Partners team that aided me in my Uplift project of Terrence Austin, Ruben Quintana, Serene Oh, and the entire BPO Team that I met in September. I will forever be thankful to Kelly Dwyer for extending this opportunity to me at the NSBE National Conference in Atlanta and your mentorship during my internship. Thank you, Kelly and the entire Res Internship Team of Eric Gramlich, Ena Tabakovic, Jasmine Hughes and Anna Andani. Last (but definitely not least) I want to thank my brilliant group of fellow interns/co-ops: Dylan Idan, Bethany Ponder, Christine Huotari, Elias Baker, Amanda Li, Lucy Fantz, and Caroline Betz. I am very appreciative of every one mentioned above for helping make my experience so incredible. I will never forget when I received my offer for my internship at Delta—I screamed so loudly in my dining hall out of pure joy that people thought something was wrong! It’s bittersweet to see this incredible chapter come to an end. A heartfelt thank you to NSBE CWRU for opening the doors to opportunities like this to me and all black engineers at Case Western Reserve University. And to the #1 world-class, highly acclaimed, welcoming, elevating, and caring airline— Delta Air Lines, thank you for everything. #DeltaInternsRock #DeltaProud
