Meet Ofc. Balders – NRHPD’s Campus Police Officer Officer Balders has 22 years of law enforcement experience, starting her career as a dispatcher at Azle PD before joining Hurst PD, where she served as a dispatcher, Records Supervisor, and Police Officer. After retiring in 2023, she continued her commitment to public service as a Part-Time Deputy Marshal with NRH Court before transitioning to her role as a Campus Police Officer at NRHPD. Why She Chose This Role: “I wanted to be a Campus Officer so I could work with children and serve as a mentor. Some students have only interacted with police in difficult situations, which can create fear or mistrust. I want to change that by showing them that officers are here to help and protect. I want every child to feel comfortable approaching a police officer if they need help. Throughout my career, I was always drawn to the community service aspect of law enforcement, and working in a school allows me to continue making a positive impact."
