Wrapping up another incredible week at the Naval Postgraduate School’s NPS Center for Homeland Defense and Security! I’m continually amazed and grateful to be part of such an extraordinary cohort, filled with talented professionals from across the nation. The collaboration, ideas, and friendships we’re building here are truly unmatched. This week’s highlights included learning directly from leaders from U.S. Space Force, U.S. Coast Guard, CISA, and DHS, who shared their invaluable insights into the complexities of national security and emergency preparedness. The caliber of instruction and the depth of discussions make this program an unforgettable experience. Proud to be part of a community committed to safeguarding our nation’s future. Great two days at the International Association of Emergency Managers annual conference in Colorado Springs with the NPS Center for Homeland Defense and Security team facilitating a Leadership Symposium on #EmergingTech intersection with #EmergencyManagement. Earlier this month, I wrapped up my third In-Residence (IR) session with the 2401/02 cohort in the NPS Center for Homeland Defense and Security program at the Naval Postgraduate School. While balancing work, school, and life can be a challenge, it's absolutely worth it. The program continues to push me (in all the right ways). I'm grateful to be in a cohort with diverse perspectives and experiences. This, paired with the collaboration (in and out of class), is shaping the journey and (I feel) enhancing the impact we're having on each other - especially in our professional roles. Looking ahead, I'm excited to dive into our next courses: Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) and Media - increasingly relevant topics in today's interconnected and fast-paced world.
