Medicaid helps families care for their loved ones. When Tracy A.’s mother, Ms. Debbie, retired in December 2023, she could no longer live on her own and moved into a long-term skilled nursing facility. While she receives Medicare, it does not cover long-term care costs—leaving her reliant on Medicaid for assistance. Without Medicaid, Ms. Debbie wouldn’t be able to afford the care she needs to live safely and with dignity. On this #MedicaidDayOfAction, let’s remember families like Tracy’s. Medicaid ensures that aging loved ones get the care they deserve. #MedicaidDayOfAction #MedicaidMatters #ProtectMedicaid

Last week, Congress passed a?Continuing Resolution?to fund the government through the end of the federal fiscal year on September 30, 2025. The CR extends both mandatory and discretionary funding for Community Health Centers. Specifically, the CR includes the following:?? ?? The Community Health Center Fund will be extended at the annualized rate of???$4.26 billion.? ?? The National Health Service Corps funding will be extended at the annualized rate of $345 million.? ?? The THCGME (Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education) funding will be extended at the annualized rate of $175 million.? ?? It would complete the discretionary appropriations through the rest of the fiscal year at level funding equal to FY 2024.?? ?? The bill also extends the current Medicare telehealth flexibilities through September 30.? The passage of this CR means that health centers have operated under a series of short-term funding extensions for two years. This uncertainty severely impacts their ability to recruit and retain staff, expand services, and invest in long-term solutions for the communities they serve. More about what's in the CR and the outlook for longer-term CHC funding in the new blog by Federal Affairs Specialist Lena Ben-Gideon: https://lnkd.in/e7pcAy86 #ValueCHCs #HealthCenters

Medicaid is a lifeline for families like Adrian’s. Adrian is a resilient two-year-old who requires complex medical care after experiencing Non-Accidental Trauma as an infant. His mother, Christi, serves on active duty in the Air Force at Langley AFB, while his father, Marcus, left his job to care for Adrian full-time. He also has a loving big brother, Roman. While his family has TRICARE, it does not cover all of Adrian’s medical necessities. Without Medicaid, he wouldn’t have access to the medical care, supplies, and nursing support he needs to survive and thrive. On this #MedicaidDayOfAction, let’s remember Adrian and the countless families who depend on Medicaid. No parent should have to choose between financial stability and their child’s health. #MedicaidDayOfAction #MedicaidMatters #ProtectMedicaid
