LUMINEX 3.0 was such a wonderful celebration of art and community! Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend to explore and connect. We had the best time and we hope you did too. ?? For LUMINEX 3.0, JOJO ABOT presents “Re.Member,” a spiritual call to gather oneself, reclaiming our worth as we reconnect with our true essence. It calls us to integrate fragmented parts of ourselves, rediscovering what has been lost or forgotten. ? JOJO ABOT describes this work as “A journey of acknowledging, uncovering, confronting, and releasing outdated beliefs, leading us to a deeper and more authentic truth that nourishes life and promotes harmonious well-being. Read on and learn more about the artist: ?Anadol is the Director of Refik Anadol Studio in Los Angeles and Lecturer in UCLA’s Department of Design Media Arts. Taking the data that surrounds us as primary material, and the neural network of a computerized mind as a collaborator, Anadol offers us radical visualizations of our digitized memories and expands the possibilities of interdisciplinary arts. ? For LUMINEX 3.0, Refik Anadol presents “Artificial Realities: California Landscapes.” Collaborating with a dataset of 153 million publicly available images of California’s National Parks, Anadol and his studio transformed this raw material into an AI Data Sculpture that offers a fresh perspective on nature, shaped by human-machine collaboration. ? This project holds special significance for Refik Anadol Studio, as it’s a tribute to the city of Los Angeles, where Anadol’s artistic journey was embraced and nurtured.
