Marie played a pivotal role in bringing insulin to Scandinavia. August co-founded the company and pioneered the first insulin research and production in Denmark. Their work has since then saved countless lives all over the world ?? Privately, they?loved spending time with their children in their summerhouse and supported each other's careers and passions. She is running to prove to herself and others what is possible with diabetes.? Diagnosed at age 11, Ina's journey was never easy, but it didn’t stop her determination to become a professional athlete. At 16, she made the Chilean national team and since then she continues challenging the world’s best. Even though diabetes changes the rules of how she lives, it doesn’t change the race.
