A Non-Profit by students for students - Reinventing how students learn about new, interesting STEM topics.

关于我们

We create STEM kits for demonstrations, experimentation, and collaboration. Students (K-12) utilize these kits as a way to learn about STEM, explore interesting concepts and ideas, all whilst learning about the scientific method. By implementing a complex subject into a kit, we leverage the tangibility aspect of the kit to foster a quality learning experience.

400 kits later, rain or shine... This past weekend, the entire Novelty Innovations team had the chance to hand out 400 of the subsidized versions of our Permaculture kits to the Brooklyn community (Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn Heights, and Cobble Hill) at the Atlantic Antic Festival. Was a complete team effort! Big thank you to Marcus Jun, Shane Bennett, Anton Liang, and Mason Lo. Also, a big thank you to our donors for making this a reality.

  • Shoutout to NIA Community Services Network for successfully implementing 825+ of our Permaculture kits, standing as the backbone of their STEM curriculum for the four weeks students participated in the summer program. EVEN MORE, NIA had partnered with National Grid to bring in actual engineers to teach these fundamental scientific topics as students were able to manage their very own ecosystems! With long conversations between former NIA attendee and founder of Novelty Innovations, Marcus Jun, and NIA's Director of Education, Corinne Colosimo, we were able to bring these kits to the NYC neighborhoods of Borough Park, Bensonhurst, Kensington, Mapleton, Flushing, Elmhurst, Inwood, Morrisania, and Coney Island through the summer programs at NIA. More than 75% of students within the NIA program are eligible for HRA assistance, live in a household with income below the federal poverty level, or reside in temporary housing.?Bringing these kits into the hands of these students was CRUCIAL to their success, ingraining these unique topics for these incoming middle and high schoolers will only help them!

  • Great to see our kits being implemented at the Freedom School within YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester!- It was awesome talking to the staff and working with the Project Director Billie Grier and fellow high schooler and site STEM teacher, Ava Morgan. 50 of our kits were implemented and as you can see from the smiles on the campers’ faces that they had a great time! Our permaculture kits have impacted the lives of thousands of students this summer. We hope that this is a long partnership between Novelty Innovations and the students at YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester. If you would like to contribute to our cause, please look to donate at noveltyinnovations.org!

  • Marcus Jun and Shane Bennett visited Faith at Work Christian Church, a Freedom School that serves the local Bronx community by providing opportunities for children in the area last week. At Co-op City, they taught a highly engaging class, using our Permaculture kits with both the energetic elementary school students and the bright and engaged middle schoolers. We were also able to donate 25 of our Permaculture kits to the Freedom School, in addition to teaching and facilitating activities for the students. Special thanks to Dr. Deborah D. Jenkins and Ms. Pressley for their support in successfully implementing our kits for all 21 K-8 students. We commend Rev. Jenkins for her dedication and love for education, evident in her commitment to the students at the Freedom School.

  • I had a great conversation with Jeremy Smith today, connecting with how we, as educators, have been given a powerful tool to give back to our communities. I am excited about our partnership with the Freedom Scholar Learning Center in Rochester, NY, to implement 30 of our permaculture kits for the students participating in their afterschool programming this fall of 2024. Mr. Smith has shown incredible dedication to supporting his Rochester community where the majority of families rely on free or reduced lunch programs and many parents work 2-3 jobs to make ends meet. His commitment to providing educational opportunities in such a challenging environment is truly inspiring.
