Novelis reached a significant milestone at its Bay Minette site with the installation of its first major equipment component: the kilns. Kilns are critical to the aluminum recycling and rolling process by burning off external coatings?prior to being turned into molten metal. Bay?Minette?will have the capacity to recycle 17 billion UBCs annually, as well as other scrap material, increasing Novelis’ UBC processing capacity from 82 billion to 99 billion.
